What happens to my data?
It goes nowhere: there is no GetMyNews server. Your taste is learned on your phone, and your swipes never feed an advertising profile on our side. There's no account to create either — no email, no password.
Is it really free?
Yes, entirely, and with no sign-up. It's funded by one ad every 20 stories — that's it. Nothing is locked, there's no account: every source and every feature is free.
I switch phones — do I lose everything?
No. Your saved news and personalized feed follow your device backup (iCloud on iPhone, Google backup on Android), like your other apps. Nothing to restore by hand.
Can I read foreign articles in English?
Yes. Tapping Read the full story opens the publisher's own page inside the app (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android), where a single tap translates it to English — free, using the translator already built into your phone.
What are your sources?
More than 1,200 public feeds from 22 countries: national broadcasters, business desks, regional dailies and specialist outlets — NPR, CNN, BBC News, CBS News, Bloomberg, the Financial Times and many more. An on-device model tags each story by topic, and the newsroom is always shown on the card. GetMyNews is not affiliated with any of them.
How do I get the app?
GetMyNews is in review with Apple and Google. It will be free on the App Store and Google Play, with no account to create and no waiting list — just come back and download it.
Does it work offline?
Cards already loaded stay readable without a connection, and so do your saved stories. You need to be online to load new cards and to open an article on the publisher's site.
