Who publishes this site
GetMyNews is a US news app for Android and the website you are reading. Both are published by SMARTNESS HOME, a French company whose registration details, publication director and hosting provider are listed on the Legal Notice. The same small team builds the app and writes the blog. Articles are signed “GetMyNews”, the brand, rather than an individual: they are edited as a whole, and nobody is presented as a journalist or an expert who is not one.
How the articles are written and sourced
The blog explains how to read the news — sources, paywalls, privacy, reading habits — and how the app works. When an article gives a figure, a name or a date, the source is named in the same sentence, and it is a page anyone can open: a publisher’s own site, an official document, a public feed. We do not quote figures we could not read ourselves, and we do not report the news: the app links to the newsrooms that do.
Every article shows a Published date and, once it has been revised, an Updateddate. The same dates are carried in the page’s structured data and in the sitemap, so what a search engine reads is what you see.
How the app’s sources are chosen
The app reads 92 public RSS feeds published by 37US newsrooms — public radio, network news, business desks, national dailies and specialist science, tech and entertainment titles. A feed is kept only if it is public, belongs to a US newsroom and still delivers articles: every URL is checked with the same parser as the app before each store submission, and feeds that stop working are removed rather than left to show an empty card. The newsroom is always shown on the card, and tapping a story opens the publisher’s own page in your browser. GetMyNews is not affiliated with any of these newsrooms and never edits their content.
How to report an error
If an article states something wrong, an outdated figure or a broken link, write to the contact address on the Legal Notice, naming the page. Corrections change the article’s Updated date. Rights holders will find the notice-and-takedown procedure on the same page; questions about your data are answered in the Privacy Policy and on Your Data & Choices.
What this site is not
GetMyNews is not a news outlet. It reports nothing, hosts no article text and has no editorial line on the stories it shows; the blog is general information about reading the news, not journalism training, legal advice or a ranking of who is right. The app is free to install and paid for by advertising served by Google AdMob — a banner and one full-screen ad every 20 stories — so “no account” does not mean that nothing about your device reaches an ad network; the Privacy Policy says exactly what does, and how to change it.
